Special Instructions on Specimen Collection & Handling

1. The test does not require the patient to lie down.

2. The patient should fast for 4-6 hours (i.e. no food,

    no drink, no chewing of gum and no smoking).

3. The patient should not have taken:

• Any antibiotics in the last 4 weeks
• Any bismuth preparations, PeptoBismol, etc. in the last 4 weeks
• Any proton pump inhibitors, Losec or Zoton, etc. in the last 2 weeks
• Any H2 Antagonists, Tagamet, Zantac, etc., in the last 3 days
